According to App Annie Analysts, users in Russia spent nearly $1.6 billion last year on Mobile Apps.
Analytical agency App Annie presented the State of Mobile 2022 report. In the document, the company shared statistics on the use of mobile applications and the development of the sector. In addition to global data, App Annie provided information about Russia.

Users started to spend more time on mobile apps – the average was 4 hours and 48 minutes per day, which represents 30% more than in 2019.
Users from Brazil and Indonesia became the average time record holders – almost 5 and a half hours a day.
In 2021 alone, users left more than $170 trillion in apps.
Approximately half of the total time users spend on social networks and instant messengers, the rest of the time is occupied by games, entertainment services, tools for working with photos and videos.
In 2021, publishers and independent developers released 2 million new apps for Android and iOS, and there are now nearly 22 million apps in total App Stores, 77% of the total on Google Play.
Gen Z spends more time on TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Spotify and Netflix, and millennials prefer WhatsApp, Facebook, Facebook Messenger and online shopping apps like Amazon and eBay.
Advertising spending exceeded $295 billion, up 23% from 2020.
Netflix became the most downloaded movie and series app, followed by Amazon Prime Video and Disney+

Russians left more than $1.5 billion worth of mobile apps, which is 49% more than the previous year.
Russian users spend an average of 26 hours on TikTok, just over 12 hours on VK, 10 hours on WhatsApp and Instagram, and around 6 hours on Telegram every month.
TikTok, Telegram and WhatsApp became the most downloaded social apps in Russia, while TikTok showed the fastest growth in the number of downloads over the past three years.
In the food category, Russians were most likely to download Pyaterochka, McDonald’s, Delivery Club and Samokat apps.
Genshin Impact was the fastest growing game in terms of user spending, with Brawl Stars, RAID: Shadow Legends and World of Tanks Blitz also among the top 10 most spent games.
Brawl Stars and PUBG: NEW STATE become the most downloaded games.
In total, Russians spent the most money on VKontakte Music, VKontakte, Yandex Music, TikTok and IVI apps.
